You mean it ‘snows’ in La Rioja?
Some lucky guests over from California last week got to see something that not many visitors capture, the beautiful sight of La Rioja covered in snow!
A couple of days exploring the Basque Coast and the Rioja Alavesa area of the Basque Country produced a couple of unexpected surprises.
The little known world of Txakoli revealed itself to a Bordeaux and Bourbon fan, who ended up discovering a whole lot more about the history of the Basques.
And La Rioja reveled itself to be a lot more complex that just a wine -producing region in ‘Sunny’ Spain!! Read our guests comments here.
All arranged at short notice, our guests took in a great day tour of the Basque Coast (rain, hail, wind and sun came along for the ride too…) and got to visit a working Txakoli Bodega and distillery, and a visit to some of the hidden gems of the Bizkaian coastline.
The following day took us inland to Rioja Alavesa where we undertook a couple of visits to some smaller, off-the-beaten-track bodegas for a private tour, all in English of course. Two leisurely days with just the right amount of traveling, education and wine tasting and great traditional food.
